Victoria and Albert Museum

V&A South Kensington is the Victoria and Albert Museum's museum of art and design on Cromwell Road in London.

Why go

The Victoria and Albert Museum on Cromwell Road in South Kensington is named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and was founded in 1852, according to the UK government's page on it, which describes a collection spanning 5,000 years of art in almost every medium. The museum's visit page for V&A South Kensington says general admission is free and needs no booking, while some exhibitions and events carry a separate charge. The page says staff may search bags and that wheeled luggage and bags larger than 56 by 45 by 21 cm are not allowed in the galleries. The V&A also runs Young V&A in Bethnal Green, V&A East, V&A Dundee and the V&A Wedgwood Collection; this record is the South Kensington museum only.
