Weather & seasons
When to visit Telavi
Telavi has a continental eastern Georgian climate with hot summers, cold winters and strong seasonal contrasts. Spring is green and changeable, summer can be very hot, autumn is warm and harvest-focused, and winter is quiet with occasional snow and clear Caucasus views.
Best time
April to June and September to October are the most rewarding periods. Spring brings green landscapes and comfortable sightseeing weather, while September and October coincide with Kakheti's grape harvest and some of the region's richest food and wine activity. July and August are hot, while winter is quiet and good for museums, wine cellars and regional food if you do not mind colder conditions.
