George Town museum and attraction tickets compared

The short answer

Each of these six tickets admits you to one venue in George Town, so the choice is about the venue, not the bundle. Four are small themed museums in George Town's streets, one is an indoor mini golf cafe, and one is The TOP, the entertainment complex at the top of KOMTAR tower. George Town is one half of the UNESCO World Heritage property Melaka and George Town, Historic Cities of the Straits of Malacca, inscribed in 2008.[14] Most of the tickets split into options by nationality or by day of the week, and The TOP's options differ in what they cover.

The TOP Penang: read the option title

Read The TOP Penang Ticket carefully. SkyGate's page lists three options: Big Five Attraction Pass; Super Saver Adventure Fun Pass (Big Five + Seven Attractions); and Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck + Sky Bridge.[1] Only the third title names the Skywalk and the deck. SkyGate's page does not list which attractions make up the "Big Five" or the "Seven", and XTOUR has not verified whether either pass includes the Skywalk, so check the option terms before paying if the rooftop view is the reason you are going.

The operator places the open-air Rainbow Skywalk on Level 68, on the rooftop of KOMTAR, at 816 feet above sea level, with an air-conditioned Observatory Deck on Level 65.[3] SkyGate's listing gives separate hours for the Skywalk and deck, the Sky Bridge rope course and the indoor attractions on Levels 3 to 5, and says children below 90 cm in height are free of charge.[1] The operator's own notice reserves the right to change hours or close attractions without notice.[2] See The TOP Penang page on XTOUR for the venue itself.

Three themed museums in the heritage streets

The Penang 3D Trick Art Museum Ticket covers walk-in painted illusions you pose inside. SkyGate's listing describes more than 40 artworks and a diorama of Penang, and says shoes are not allowed inside and that children under 4 enter free, with age counted by year of birth.[4] The operator gives the address as 10 Lebuh Penang. Its site publishes no opening hours and its newest news post dates from 2022, so the SkyGate page is the more recent sign that the museum is trading.[5] The two options are Admission (International Travellers) and Admission (Malaysian Citizens).[4]

The Wonderfood Museum Penang Ticket covers the museum of oversized model dishes. SkyGate's listing describes three galleries, the Info Zone, Wow Zone and Educational Zone, in a 1940s colonial building, and says children aged 2 and under are free.[6] The page has no line saying what the price includes. The operator gives its address as 49 Lebuh Pantai (Beach Street), beside CIMB Bank, and publishes daily hours of 9:00am to 6:00pm, including public holidays.[7] Options again split into International Travellers and Malaysian Citizens.[6]

The Ghost Museum Penang Ticket is the one that includes people as well as entry: SkyGate lists admission and a tour guide in the price, and its highlights describe a guided tour of three floors with a costume photo. Its four options cross nationality with day: Mondays to Thursdays, or Fridays to Sundays and public holidays. The listing lets visitors with disabilities, and students above 17 with a valid student ID, book a Child or Senior ticket.[8] The Department of Museums Malaysia lists it as a private museum at 57 Lebuh Melayu.[9] Penang Global Tourism gives Monday to Sunday, 10.00am to 7.00pm.[10] The museum has no website of its own, so confirm times directly.

Penang History Gallery: the street is known, the door is not

The Penang History Gallery Ticket admits you to a gallery that SkyGate describes as 10,000 square feet across 38 themes, with recreated colonial streets and exhibits on the Second World War and the Japanese Occupation. SkyGate's listing says children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult and that last admission is 30 minutes before closing.[11]

Its exact address is not verified. SkyGate gives only Bishop Street (Lebuh Bishop), George Town.[11] XTOUR could not read a primary source that gives the house number or pins the building, so the XTOUR map shows this ticket on the Penang destination rather than on a venue. Confirm the address with the seller after booking. The options are International Travellers and Malaysian Citizens.[11]

De'8000 Mini Golf Cafe

The De'8000 Mini Golf Cafe Penang Ticket buys the one indoor game on the list. SkyGate's listing describes an 18-hole mini golf course across three themed zones in a 3,600-square-foot space, with a cafe.[12] The operator's only web presence is its Instagram profile, which gives 32 Jalan Green Hall and a daily 10:00am opening, and showed posts dated September 2026.[13] SkyGate offers four options: a 1-hour Admission and a plain Admission, each for Malaysian Citizens or International Travellers. The page does not explain how the untimed admission differs from the 1-hour one, so read the option terms before choosing.[12]

How to choose

• For a view over George Town, The TOP Penang Ticket is the only one of the six with an observation deck, and only the Rainbow Skywalk and Observatory Deck + Sky Bridge option names it.[1]
• For a guided visit rather than self-guided rooms, the Ghost Museum Penang Ticket is the only one that lists a tour guide in the price.[8]
• For local history, the Penang History Gallery Ticket; for food culture, the Wonderfood Museum Penang Ticket; for photos inside painted scenes, the Penang 3D Trick Art Museum Ticket.
• For a game with friends or children, the De'8000 Mini Golf Cafe Penang Ticket.
• Five of the six split their options into International Travellers and Malaysian Citizens; pick the one that describes you. XTOUR has not verified what proof is checked at the door.
