The Department of Museums Malaysia lists the Penang Ghost Museum as a private museum at 57 Lebuh Melayu, 10100 George Town. Penang Global Tourism, the state tourism bureau, says the museum features "the horror and myth of all evils and ghosts, especially of legend stories in Malaysia". The museum has no website of its own, and both official directories point to its Facebook page. The two directories publish different opening hours: the museums directory gives 9.00am to 5.00pm and the tourism bureau gives 10.00am to 7.00pm, Monday to Sunday.
