Why go
The Achilleion is Empress Elisabeth of Austria's palace at Gastouri on Corfu, completed in 1891 according to its official website, which says she named it for her passion for the central hero of the Iliad and that Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany bought it in 1907 and restored its gardens. The website carries the name of Hellenic Public Properties Co. S.A. and refers to the Achilleion Museum and its ticket offices. When read on 9 October 2026, its home page said that, because of restoration works, only the outdoor areas and the Imperial Gardens were open to visitors. Its opening-hours page says reduced-price tickets are issued only at the museum's ticket offices, and the site links to an e-ticket service. The palace lies at Gastouri, outside Corfu Town, which XTOUR treats as a base for it rather than its container.
