Why go

Ancient Corinth is the archaeological site of the city whose political and religious life, Hellenic Heritage says, centred on the Temple of Apollo of 560 BC and the theatre, largely unearthed in excavations that began in 1896 and continue today. The site lies at the foot of Acrocorinth, the fortified acropolis of ancient and medieval Corinth. The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth was built in 1932 by the American School of Classical Studies, according to the same page, which singles out the twin Kouros statues of ancient Tenea among its exhibits. Hellenic Heritage's ticket and the Ministry of Culture's Odysseus page both describe one combined ticket for the site and the museum, and Hellenic Heritage lists the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinthia as the contact. This record is the archaeological site with its museum, not the modern city of Corinth or Acrocorinth.
