Geological Museum Bandung
Museum Geologi
The Geological Museum (Museum Geologi) is the earth-science museum of Indonesia's Geological Agency at Jalan Diponegoro 57 in Bandung, opened in 1929.
Why go
The museum's own history page says the building was put up in 1928 and opened as the 'Geologische Museum' on 16 May 1929, and that since 2013 the museum has been a technical unit of the Geological Agency (Badan Geologi) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Its home page lists galleries on the history of life, the geology of Indonesia, geological resources and geological hazards. The museum's visit page says individuals and small groups buy tickets at the museum, that groups of more than 20 must reserve, and that visitors scan a reservation QR code on arrival, pay at the ticket desk and wear the wristband ticket shown at the main door. The same page asks visitors not to eat or drink in the galleries or touch the exhibits unless marked, and allows photos and recordings that are not for commercial use.
