Why go

The Basilica of Santa María del Coro is a Baroque church in the Old Town (Parte Vieja) of San Sebastián, at the head of Calle Mayor. San Sebastián Turismo says it was built between 1743 and 1774 on the site of an older church, that its façade is topped by a sculpture of Saint Sebastian, and that its main altarpiece is dedicated to the Virgen del Coro, patron saint of the city; it also notes regular organ and choir concerts. The Basque Government's tourism site gives the address as Calle 31 de Agosto 46 and says the Orfeón Donostiarra choir sings the traditional Salve there every 14 August. It is a working church, and this record does not state visiting rules.
