Why go
Monte Igueldo (Igeldo) is a hill on the edge of La Concha Bay in San Sebastián; this record is the hill, while the funicular and the amusement park on its summit are separate subjects. San Sebastián Turismo says a funicular inaugurated on 25 August 1912 climbs from a station near El Peine del Viento to the fairground at the summit, from which you can see the city, part of the Gipuzkoa coastline and the Cantabrian Sea. The summit amusement park's website, owned by Monte Igueldo, S.A., presents its lookout, funicular and rides; its directions page gives the road address as Paseo de Igueldo 183 and says the bus fare does not include entry to the enclosure. Opening times of the funicular and the enclosure are set by the operator.
