Why go
Bellver Castle is a 14th-century castle of circular plan on a hilltop west of Palma's centre; Visit Palma, the city's tourism foundation, says it was built for defence and control. Visit Palma describes its three original towers and an additional Tower of Homage and says its courtyard hosts cultural events through the year, and both Visit Palma and the Balearic Islands' tourism site say the castle houses Palma's City History Museum (Museu d'Història de la Ciutat). The two tourism sites describe its circular plan with different superlatives, so neither is used here. This record is the castle, which contains the museum; Wikidata records Palma City Council as its owner. The castle's own site could not be read; Visit Palma lists seasonal hours and closing days, so check before you go.
