Caves of Drach
Coves del Drac · Cuevas del Drach
The Caves of Drach (Coves del Drac) are show caves with an underground lake, Lake Martel, at Porto Cristo in the municipality of Manacor on Mallorca's east coast.
Why go
The Caves of Drach are show caves at Porto Cristo on Mallorca's east coast, in the municipality of Manacor, not in Palma. The operator's site says the visit follows a route of about 1,200 metres through the caves and includes a live classical-music concert on Lake Martel, during which photos and filming are not allowed, and that touching the formations and leaving the path are prohibited. Its FAQ says tickets are sold on its website, in its official app and at the ticket offices, not by phone, that tours are not guided but run in groups along a set itinerary, and that changes and refunds are not accepted. The operator's pages disagree about the boat crossing of Lake Martel: the home page says the boat trip is suspended, while the cave page says visitors can cross by boat or on foot over the bridge, so check before you go. The map point marks the caves' site, not the visitor entrance.
