Why go

Çamlıca Tower is the radio and television tower on Küçük Çamlıca hill in Üsküdar. According to its operator, Kule A.Ş., it has two observation floors on the 33rd and 34th floors, at 366.5 m and 371 m above sea level, and restaurants on the 39th and 40th floors. The operator's FAQ says the observation floors have no open-air area, so the view is through glass, and that stairs are for evacuation only: visitors go up in one of two panoramic lifts of 10 people each. The operator says the 39th-floor café needs no reservation but a seat depends on availability, while the 40th-floor restaurant must be booked. The operator calls it the tallest tower in Europe, which is its own claim and not checked here. It replaced the many separate broadcast masts on the Çamlıca hills with a single structure. The tower is not Çamlıca Mosque, which stands about 2 km to the north.

Getting there

The operator's contact page (read 22 September 2026) lists bus lines 129T, 34AZ and 34Z, dolmuş lines D-36 and D-61, Marmaray and a metro line as ways to reach the tower. It names the metro as M5 in one place and M4 in another and gives no walking directions, so check the route with the operator or a journey planner. The car-park section of its site was still an unfilled placeholder on that date. The address is Küçük Çamlıca Mahallesi, Çilehane Caddesi, Oyma Sokak No:1, Üsküdar.

Through the year

The operator publishes one set of opening hours for every day of the week and no seasonal timetable (read 22 September 2026). Both observation floors are enclosed, so the visit does not depend on open-air conditions, but the operator does not say how season or weather affects the view. The FAQ notes that waits of up to 60 minutes are expected at busy times without saying which times those are.

Safety

Visitors pass a security screening at the entrance. Smoking is not allowed in the tower. Bags and other items that are not admitted can be left in the cloakroom after screening, according to the operator's FAQ.

Accessibility

According to the operator's accessibility statement (read 22 September 2026), wheelchairs are available on site on a first-come, first-served basis, the lifts have room for a wheelchair, accessible toilets are on every floor of the tower, and staff are trained to help older and disabled visitors. Strollers are admitted if visitors follow the operator's rules, which it does not spell out. The operator does not describe the route from the street to the foyer, so ask before you go if you need a step-free approach.
