Doi Inthanon National Park

อุทยานแห่งชาติดอยอินทนนท์

Doi Inthanon National Park is a national park in Chiang Mai Province around the mountain Doi Inthanon, covering parts of Chom Thong, Mae Chaem, Mae Wang and Doi Lo districts.

Why go

The Department of Tourism's directory says the park was declared in 1972 as Thailand's sixth national park and covers parts of Chom Thong, Mae Chaem, Mae Wang and Doi Lo districts, and that the mountain was formerly called Doi Luang or Doi Ang Ka; it names the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation as the responsible department. A 2019 TAT notice citing that department says the park contains the Doi Inthanon peak and names Mae Ya Waterfall among its attractions. The two sources give slightly different areas, 482.4 and 481.89 square kilometres, so no area is stated. TAT's January 2026 notice says the national park system closes some attractions each year depending on weather and park conditions, and advises checking each park's rules before visiting. This record is the park as an area; Doi Inthanon the mountain is a separate record, and the park's entrances and headquarters are not established here.
