International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum
Musée international de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum is a museum of humanitarian action at Avenue de la Paix 17 in Geneva, close to the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Why go
This record is the museum, not the ICRC headquarters next to it and not the Red Cross Movement as an institution. The museum's history page says it was built near the ICRC headquarters on the Colline de Pregny after an architecture competition launched in 1979, opened on 29 October 1988 and reopened on 18 May 2013 after two years of work on the building. Its home page says the new permanent exhibition will explore humanitarian action through three periods in the history of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and that the current exhibition stays open while the changes are phased in between 2026 and 2028. The museum sells tickets on its own website.
