Why go

The Jewish Museum Vienna (Jüdisches Museum Wien) describes itself as one museum in two places: Museum Dorotheergasse, on the history of Jewish Vienna, and Museum Judenplatz, on Judaism in medieval Vienna. Its about page says an earlier Jewish museum founded in Vienna in 1895 was closed by the Nazis in 1938, and that surviving objects from it are now on permanent loan from the IKG Vienna; the present Jüdisches Museum der Stadt Wien GmbH was founded in 1988 and opened in Palais Eskeles at Dorotheergasse 11 in November 1993. The museum's visit page says one ticket admits to both locations within seven days. This record is the museum, mapped at its main house on Dorotheergasse; the Judenplatz location is part of the same museum and is not this record's map point.
