Why go
Koruldi is about the position more than the water: from 2,850 metres the Enguri valley opens below and Shkhara, Tetnuldi, Ushba and Laila line the horizon. GNTA puts the lakes about ten kilometres from Mestia, a few hours' walk, and its trekking guide gives six to eight hours for the round trip, from early summer to early autumn. Travellers short on time can instead be driven up by local guides in an off-road vehicle.
