Memorium Nuremberg Trials

Memorium Nürnberger Prozesse

The Memorium Nuremberg Trials is an information and documentation centre of the Nuremberg Municipal Museums on the top floor of the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg, with Courtroom 600, where the International Military Tribunal sat in 1945 and 1946.

Why go

The Memorium describes itself as an information and documentation center on the top floor of the courthouse, giving insights into the defendants and their crimes, the Subsequent Nuremberg Trials of 1946 to 1949 and the impact of the Nuremberg Trials to the present. It says leaders of the Nazi regime had to answer for their crimes before the International Military Tribunal in Courtroom 600 between 20 November 1945 and 1 October 1946, and that 12 Subsequent Trials before US military tribunals were held in the same courtroom from 1946 to 1949. The museum says Courtroom 600 has no longer been used for trials since 1 March 2020, but that it can still be closed, and its media installation not shown, because of events there; it publishes those closing times and says the permanent exhibition can be visited when the courtroom is closed. Its visitor address is Bärenschanzstraße 72. This record is the Memorium, not the Palace of Justice as a court building and not the trials themselves.
