Mount Batur

Gunung Batur

Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano in the Kintamani district of Bangli Regency, Bali, with views of its caldera and Lake Batur.

Why go

The Bali Government Tourism Office's page describes Gunung Batur as an active volcano with views of the caldera and Lake Batur, in the Kintamani district of Bangli Regency. The Batur Global Geopark's site says the geopark, part of the Global Geopark Network, covers two calderas with caldera walls, cones and craters; this record is the volcano, not the geopark. Bali's provincial tourism register lists the Mount Batur climb ('Pendakian Gunung Batur') as an attraction at Songan village managed by PPGB, the Mount Batur climbing guides' association (Perhimpunan Pramuwisata Pendakian Gunung Batur). This record is also not Lake Batur or Pura Ulun Danu Batur, and its map point is the summit, which stands for the mountain and is not a trailhead.
