Why go

This is Athens, the city's official guide, says the Museum of Cycladic Art was established in 1986 to house the private collection of the Goulandris family and focuses on the ancient cultures of the Aegean, especially that of the Cyclades in the 3rd millennium BC, and names the Cycladic figurines as its most prized exhibits. The guide says temporary exhibitions are held in the Stathatos Mansion, built in 1895 to designs by Ernst Ziller, which a glass-topped internal walkway connects to the main building. It gives the museum's address as 4 Neophytou Douka Street in Kolonaki. Opening hours, tickets and the entrance in use are set by the museum; check its own site before you go.
