Phong Nha Cave

Why go

Phong Nha Cave is a cave with an underground river in Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park, run as a show cave by the park's Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng Tourism Centre. The park's page describes the standard visit: after buying a ticket at the counter, visitors take a boat down the Son River to the cave mouth, where the boat switches off its engine and is rowed about 1,200 m along the underground river, and on the way back visitors walk through two dry branches, Hang Tiên and Hang Cung Đình, on walkways. The same page lists two other ways to see it, a 4,500 m route and a night exploration. Tiên Sơn Cave, higher on the same mountain, is a separate cave reached from the same boat landing. Hours, fees and boat charges are set by the operator and are not repeated here.
