Sơn Đoòng is a cave in the core zone of Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park, found by a local man, Hồ Khanh, in 1990 and made known in 2009 by a British-Vietnamese caving team, according to the park. The park's page says tours have been run exclusively by Oxalis Adventure since 2013, as a six-day, five-night expedition that includes four days and three nights of jungle trekking and camping inside the cave, for groups of at most ten. It also says the tour requires good fitness and trekking experience, that departures are scheduled from January to August, and that numbers are capped at 1,000 guests a year. Vietnam's national tourism site also says Sơn Đoòng expeditions are booked with Oxalis, but describes the expedition as taking four days. The park names no other operator; prices and departure dates are the operator's.
