Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park

Vườn quốc gia Phong Nha - Kẻ Bàng

Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park is a national park of limestone karst, forest and caves in Quảng Trị province, established in 2001 and managed by a board based in Phong Nha commune.

Why go

Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park was established by a Prime Minister's decision in 2001 and enlarged to 123,326 ha in 2013, according to its management board. The board records World Heritage inscription in 2003 and 2015, a transboundary listing with Laos's Hin Nam No National Park in 2025, and UNESCO biosphere-reserve status in 2026; those are designations over the park, not this record's identity. The board's tourism page lists 20 tourism products in three groups (caves; nature and experience; culture and history), with show caves such as Phong Nha and Tiên Sơn run by its own tourism centre, Paradise Cave run by Trường Thịnh under a forest-environment lease, and expedition caves such as Sơn Đoòng run with Oxalis. Vietnam's national tourism site says access to the larger caves is restricted and some companies hold exclusive rights to certain caves. The map point is the middle of the park and is not an entrance.
