Rhine Falls
Rheinfall
The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall) are a waterfall of the Rhine between Neuhausen am Rheinfall in the canton of Schaffhausen and Schloss Laufen in Laufen-Uhwiesen in the canton of Zurich.
Why go
The Rhine Falls site, published by Schaffhauserland Tourismus, says the water falls over the rocks across a width of 150 metres and that the falls are in principle freely accessible. It says there is no entrance fee on the Neuhausen side at Schlössli Wörth, while on the opposite bank a ticket at Schloss Laufen covers the Historama and the viewing platforms, which can also be bought online, and that from Schloss Laufen a footpath leads past the falls to the Fischetz platform. The City of Schaffhausen's portrait places the falls downstream of the city, so Schaffhausen is a base for this record, not its container. This record is the waterfall, not Schloss Laufen, the rock in the middle of the river or the boat trips to it.
