The Sekinchan Wishing Tree stands at Pantai Redang, the beach at Sekinchan on Selangor's north-west coast. Tourism Selangor places it near the Pantai Redang Datuk Kong Temple. Visitors write a wish on a red ribbon, weight it with a coin or metal disc and throw it up into the branches. According to Tourism Selangor, the custom holds that the higher the ribbon hangs, the more likely the wish is to come true. Thousands of ribbons have turned the tree red. Tourism Selangor calls it one of the main tourist attractions in Sekinchan. This entry covers the tree and its custom only. It does not describe the temple or swimming at the beach.
