Galleria degli Uffizi
The Uffizi Gallery is the art museum on the first and second floors of the sixteenth-century Uffizi building in Florence, with collections of paintings and ancient sculpture.
Why go
This record is the museum, not the building that houses it. The Uffizi Galleries' own page says the gallery occupies the first and second floors of the building designed by Giorgio Vasari and built between 1560 and 1580, and describes collections of paintings from the Middle Ages to the modern period alongside ancient statues and busts from the Medici family. The Gallerie degli Uffizi, which runs it, also runs Palazzo Pitti, the Boboli Gardens and the Vasari Corridor, each a separate visit. The operator's ticket listing offers a named single ticket bought either on the day or in advance, and its visit page lists online sales at tickets.uffizi.it, a call centre and a ticket office under the Uffizi loggia. Hours and prices are set by the museum and change, so check its site before you go.
