Catedral de València · Catedral de Valencia
Valencia Cathedral is the Catholic cathedral church of Valencia, whose bell tower is the Miguelete (Micalet).
Why go
Valencia Cathedral is the archbishop's church, where the cathedral's FAQ says the archdiocese's main liturgical celebrations are held and the chapter celebrates the Liturgy of the Hours and Mass every day. The same FAQ says the first stone was laid on 22 June 1262 and that Gothic is the dominant style. The cathedral says it keeps the Holy Chalice (Santo Cáliz), which its tradition identifies as the cup used at the Last Supper, and its FAQ says the chalice is shown in its own chapel at the end of the cathedral museum visit. The cathedral's visit page says the paid cultural visit includes the cathedral museum and an audioguide, that the Miguelete bell tower has its own ticket, and it lists times of free access outside the cultural visit and days with no cultural visit. This record is the cathedral; the Miguelete is a component of it. Visiting times and ticket types are published on the cathedral's visit page, so check it before you go.
