Zentrum Paul Klee
Zentrum Paul Klee
The Zentrum Paul Klee is the museum and cultural centre for Paul Klee's work in the Schöngrün area of Bern, opened in 2005 in a building by Renzo Piano.
Why go
The Zentrum Paul Klee is a museum and cultural centre devoted to the life and work of Paul Klee, at Monument im Fruchtland 3 in Bern. Its foundation page says it opened on 20 June 2005 on land in Schöngrün given by Maurice E. and Martha Müller, who asked for Renzo Piano as architect and for a cultural centre rather than a traditional museum, and that its collection brought together works given by Klee's heirs, the Paul Klee Foundation and private lenders. The centre describes itself as combining the visual arts with music, literature and agriculture, and it includes a children's museum and a sculpture park. Its ticket page sells admission for a chosen date. This record is the museum, not its building item, the sculpture park or the surrounding quarter of the same name.
