When to visit Bakuriani
Bakuriani sits around 1,700 metres in the Trialeti Range and has a true mountain climate. Winters are cold and snowy, summers are pleasantly cool compared with Tbilisi, and weather can shift rapidly. Conditions on upper ski stations are colder and windier than in the resort center.
Best time
December through March is the broad ski-season planning window, with January and February generally offering the strongest winter atmosphere. Documented opening dates and individual ski-area operation vary by snowmaking, natural snow and elevation, so historical dates are context rather than a promise for the next season. June through September is excellent for cooler mountain weather, hiking, cycling, horseback riding and family activities. Spring and late autumn are quieter transition periods when some seasonal businesses and lifts may be closed.

MTA reported active snowmaking at Mitarbi and said its trails would open gradually. The notice does not establish one exact first skiable date, so none is stored.

At the 7 December opening, MTA said Mitarbi terrain would open progressively as snowmaking advanced. By 16 March, MTA reported Mitarbi closed for the rest of the season because of low snow. Neither the exact opening nor exact closing date is established by these notices.
