Why go
Lago di Braies, Pragser Wildsee in German, is a lake in the Braies (Prags) valley in South Tyrol; the valley's tourist office site places it in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, below the Seekofel peak. That site says that during a summer traffic regulation, whose dates it publishes on the site, the valley can be entered during set daytime hours only by public transport, on foot, by bicycle or with an online reservation or a valid transit permit. It also says the buses to the lake then need advance online booking and prepayment, and that it is not possible to cycle around the lake. Rules and dates change from season to season, so check the tourist office site before you go.
