Park Güell is a public park in Barcelona's Gràcia district designed by Antoni Gaudí for the entrepreneur Eusebi Güell.

Why go

Park Güell is a public park designed by Antoni Gaudí; the park's official website, part of Barcelona City Council's web, says the entrepreneur Eusebi Güell gave Gaudí the assignment of designing it in 1900. The same site says the City Council restricted access to the park's Monumental Area in October 2013 to preserve it, that the ticket covers the park's 12 hectares including the monumental, forest and panoramic areas, and that tickets are sold online only. It says visitors must arrive at the access control point at the time on their ticket, and that registered residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods have free access with a personal card. The site also says Park Güell has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984 as one of the works of Antoni Gaudí; that listing is a designation, not this record. The map pin is a point inside the park, not one of its entrances.
