Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles
พิพิธภัณฑ์ผ้าในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles is a textile museum in the Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building, inside the Grand Palace grounds in Phra Nakhon, Bangkok.
Why go
The museum's history page says it occupies the Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building on the grounds of the Grand Palace, an Italianate office building erected in 1870 that formerly housed the Ministry of Finance, and that the building was renovated to house the museum, with galleries, a library and a textile conservation laboratory. This record is the museum; the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew are separate XTOUR records. The Grand Palace website's page for the museum says Grand Palace visitors' admission includes the museum, on showing the palace ticket at the museum's ticket desk, and that a museum-only ticket is sold for those visiting only the museum. The museum's visit page says photography is not permitted in the galleries and that school and tour groups are welcomed by appointment. The Grand Palace's practical-information page sets a dress code for visitors to the Grand Palace. The museum's and the palace's pages word the opening hours differently; check both before you go.
