Istanbul after dark
The official tourism portal describes Beyoğlu as the centre of Istanbul's entertainment and cultural scene, centred on İstiklal Caddesi and Taksim Square, with historic cinemas and theatres and five festivals. Across the water it describes Kadıköy's bars, cafes and art centres, and gives Recaizade Street as a named street. Late rail is limited: Metro İstanbul's night metro runs only on Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday nights, and Şehir Hatları's 2025 announcement listed night sailings on the Kadıköy-Karaköy-Beşiktaş line on the same evenings.
