Sergey Parajanov Museum

Սերգեյ Փարաջանովի թանգարան · Sergei Parajanov Museum · Parajanov House-Museum

A house-museum in Yerevan's Dzoragyugh quarter devoted to the film director Sergey Parajanov, holding 1,766 exhibits from collages and assemblages to film sketches, hats and dolls.

Why go

Parajanov chose this house in Dzoragyugh himself, but he never moved in; the museum opened here in 1991. The collection is the best way to see the visual artist behind the films: flat and three-dimensional collages, assemblages, sketches made for his films, and personal belongings including hats and dolls. No knowledge of the films is needed to enjoy the rooms, though anyone who has seen them will get more from the visit. It is a short trip from the centre of Yerevan.
