Tourist traps to recognize in Antalya
The UK Foreign Office (page updated 18 September 2026) advises against travel only within 10 km of the Syrian border, which is nowhere near Antalya, and its Turkey-wide safety page says terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Turkey, with targets that have included public buildings, places of worship, airports and large gatherings. It does not name Antalya in the pages read. The risks it names that matter on this coast are summer wildfires, which happen frequently, with fines or prison for lighting a fire or discarding cigarettes in risk areas and possible instructions from local authorities to leave accommodation; road travel, where it asks for care particularly at night; drink spiking and illegally produced spirits; and, across Turkey, 29 cases of sexual assault, including rape, reported among 4.27 million British visitors in 2025. Check your own government's current advice, because advisories change.
