Money & costs
How much does Sevan cost?
The currency is the Armenian dram. Cards are accepted at the larger hotels and the more established lakeside restaurants, but acceptance is inconsistent and roadside stalls, small guesthouses, beach clubs, taxis and the vendors at Noratus operate in cash. ATMs are available in Sevan town but not on the shoreline strip, so draw cash before settling in at a lakeside property. Foreign cards generally work at Armenian bank machines, usually with a fixed fee per withdrawal. Assume you will need cash for most of a day at the lake.
