How much does Areni cost?
The currency is the Armenian dram. The larger wineries generally accept cards, but the village otherwise runs on cash: guesthouses, roadside stalls, small producers, taxis and the Noravank area all expect it. There is no reliable ATM in Areni village itself; the nearest are in Yeghegnadzor, so draw cash before arriving rather than assuming you can top up. Wine bought at wineries is usually payable by card at the established producers and cash at the small ones. Prices in the region are lower than Yerevan for everything except wine bought at retail.
